The pilot of a Cessna 210N is lucky to be alive, thanks to the quick, heroic action of Tampa Police in a nearby helicopter. Two Tampa officers on aerial patrol came to the rescue after the small plane crashed on Tampa International Airport property near Hillsborough Avenue and the Veterans Expressway late Thursday night. Tampa Police say Officer Brian Gentry put out the engine fire and removed the unconscious pilot.
