Fog and mist tonight in Chicago as the snow clears out of the Windy City. The forecast low is 19 degrees with gradual clearing. On Presidents Day, Chicago area residents saw 4-8 inches of snow, making driving hazardous. The snow plows are working overtime tonight to clear roads and sidewalks. Mayor Emanuel said there is enough salt supply to last the winter. The heavy snowfall forced the cancellation of 270 flights at Midway Airport today. The National Weather Service forecasts a high temperature near 38 degrees and breezy conditions on Tuesday. Winter-weary residents look forward to a brief warmup this week. With the snow piling up and a meltdown, they’re also concerned about flooding. The frozen Chicago River also is clearing up.
