When not in India, Taj Indian Cuisine near the University of South Florida in north Tampa offers a taste of home. The lunch-time servers say International Indian Film Academy staff and IIFA visitors have been dining here for good authentic northern Indian food at moderate prices. During our first visit to Taj Indian Cuisine, we ordered the lunch buffet for $10.95. The food was healthy, delightful and flavored with mild Indian spices. The all-you-can eat lunch buffet has a variety of vegetable salads, chick peas & onions, slaw, marinated carrots, beef curry, alu gobi, sag paneer, channa masala, rice noodles, fried egg plant, rice pudding and chicken dishes that change from 11:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
Taj Indian Cuisine reopens daily for dinner from 5:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. The restaurant is at 2734 E. Fowler Avenue, Tampa, FL 33612, in the Winn Dixie shopping center, west of 30th Street.
