Every Memorial Day, it’s been a tradition for one military family from Pennsylvania to attend services or events to honor their friends and family who served in America’s wars and the ones in between. Bradley, who served in Operation Southern Watch, brought his family to Veterans Memorial Park in Hillsborough County this morning to pay their respects and remember. The park is a quiet place for reflection for visitors. The 4,000 small flags in a garden that represented every soldier who died from Hillsborough County are gone, but in its place are newer monuments to honor those who didn’t come home from war.
Park admission is free to the public. Veterans Memorial Park is on U.S. 301, just south of the Florida State Fair Grounds. It is open today and daily at 10 a.m.
