Afternoon Storms in Orlando area

Pack an umbrella or rain poncho with you, if you’re visiting Orlando and Florida this week. Local forecasts include a 50 percent rain chance today and Thursday. On Tuesday, a deluge of rain, lightning and gusty winds caused property damage in some spots in the Orlando area, Orange and Volusia counties. Three inches of rain were reported in some parts of Orlando Tuesday afternoon.

At the Magic Kingdom, the Jungle Boat ride was closed. Disney’s Electrical Parade was delayed until the weather improved Tuesday night. Shortly after this mid-afternoon parade on Main Street, visitors were soaked as they ran for cover during the heavy downpours.
