Families shop for shoes at this Sketchers Outlet in Carrollwood and school supplies at this Target in Town & Country today. Some stores also are offering 40-50% and deeper discounts during the sales tax holiday weekend which ends at Sunday midnight.
The 2014 Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday is underway in Florida.
No sales taxes will be collected on purchases of:
1. Clothing, shoes, footwear and certain accessories $100 or less per item
2. School supplies selling for $15 or less per item
3. Personal computers and certain computer-related accessories on the first $750 of the sales price when purchased for noncommercial home or personal use.
The tax holiday does not apply to purchases of some books, repairs or alterations, clothing, school supplies, computers and computer-related accessories in a theme park, entertainment complex, public lodging establishment or airport.
The Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday ends at 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, August 3, 2014.
