January 1977 Snow in Tampa

During the winter months,  snow is rare in Tampa and south Florida.   On January 19, 1977,  snow fell in Tampa.  According to Weather Source’s Weather Warehouse.com, there was  0.25 inches of snow in the early morning and it disappeared by noon.  Tampa International Airport recorded 0.1 inch precipitation on that day from midnight to noon. Numerous rear-end accidents were reported due to drivers distracted by the snow.
