Quiet Time with God

Calvary BC, Pollworkers 012

We invite you to join us for worship services and fellowship at Calvary Baptist Church, 110 N. McMullen Booth Road, Clearwater, Florida 33759 (main campus) or at the East Lake campus.   For  more information on events, announcements and more, go to http://www.calvary.us or call the church office at 727-441-1581.

Sunday’s message was by guest speaker, Sean McDowell, titled “Passing on the Faith to the Next Generation.” The message is based on:

“Hear, O Israel: the Lord our God, the Lord is one! You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.”  –Deuteronomy 6: 4-7 KJV

McDowell said these Bible verses were part of Moses’s final speech. God talks about God in different settings in the rest of Deuteronomy 6.

Key Points:

1. Make God the Lord of your home.

2. Love God with all your heart.

3. Make God part of the rhythm of life in your home.

McDowell has practical advice for parents and grandparents in mentoring children. Talk to children about God during family meals, when you travel together, at the end of the day and in the morning.

Senior Pastor William Rice begins a sermon series in February, “What now? What to do when your world falls apart?”
