The University of South Florida celebrated Chinese New Year on Thursday night in Tampa. The event was free and open to the public. The USF Confucius Institute, USF’s Chinese Culture and Language Club, INFO USF, USF’s brightest students, scholars and local Chinese groups organized the event to kick off the Year of the Goat and Sheep on Chinese New Year’s Day, February 18, 2015. More community CNY celebrations are scheduled this weekend in the Tampa Bay Area and around Florida.
This Sunday, February 22, 2015, the Dragon Parade Lunar New Year Festival will be at Orlando Fashion Square Mall, 3201 E. Colonial Dr., Orlando, Florida 32803. The parade starts at 11 a.m. at Orlando Fashion Square Parking Lot and ends at the Main Entrance. Free Admission with Dragon and Lion Dances, Martial Arts, Acrobatic Performances, Cultural Dances, Arts and Crafts and Asian Food. Open to the Public. Free admission.
