Dense Fog delays Cruise Ship and Wintry Mix from Gulf to Carolinas

The National Weather Service has issued a dense fog advisory for the Tampa Bay area this morning. Some inland areas may have fog, too.

“Lowest visibility will be near the coast and offshore due to sea fog in the area. A dense fog advisory is in effect from near shore waters from Englewood north to the Suwannee River, including Tampa Bay.  If driving, slow down and use low beam headlights and leave plenty of distance between you and vehicle in front of you,” the National Weather Service in Ruskin advises.

WFLA-TV also reporting sea fog has shut down the Port of Tampa today. The sea fog also delaying Royal Carribbean’s Brilliance of the Sea Cruise Ship and other ships from entering the cruise ship terminal and Port of Tampa, WTSP-TV reported at noon Eastern Time.  Most of the fog has lifted in the Tampa area.

More relentless winter weather, too. The National Weather Service also forecasts 2 rounds of snow, sleet, rain and freezing rain from the Gulf states to the Carolinas on Tuesday and again on Wednesday.
