USF takes Chinese New Year on the Road

More than 500 people attended the Chinese New Year’s Day celebration at the University of South Florida’s Marshall Student Center’s Oval Theater. During February, the USF Confucious Institute and students sponsored a dozen CNY events in Hillsborough, Pinellas counties and traveled to Vero Beach.  They hosted CNY events at St. Edward’s School in Verto Beach on February 12th, Brookdale Senior Center at Regency Oaks in Clearwater on February 12th, Country Day School on Feb. 18th in Largo, Safety Harbor Middle School on Feb. 19th in Safety Harbor, PricewaterhouseCooper in Tampa on February 23 and Thurgood Marshall Fundamental Middle School on February 27th in St. Petersburg, Florida.  The group also co-sponsored CNY celebrations with the Suncoast Association of Chineses Americans and Chinese American Association of Tampa Bay during February.
