Updated April 8, 2015–The University of Connecticut women’s basketball team won their third straight National Championship title in Tampa, Florida. The Lady Huskies won 63 to 53 over the Notre Dame Fighting Irish Tuesday night at Amalie Arena. The Notre Dame and Connecticut women’s teams  won their semi-final games Sunday night.  The games were broadcast on ESPN.

Tampa hosts the Women’s Final Four Basketball Tournament now through Tuesday’s National Championship Game on Tuesday, April 7th.  The games are at Amalie Arena in the Channelside District of downtown Tampa. The college women’s basketball games will be televised on ESPN. If you didn’t score with a $125 or $62.50 ticket to the semi-final games on Sunday night, (Notre Dame vs. South Carolina – 6:30 p.m., Connecticut vs. Maryland – 9 p.m.) or the national championship game (8:30 p.m.), there are some free events for the public and basketball fans.  For more information, visit http://www.NCAA.com/WomensFinal-Four. April 4 -April 7, (Saturday – Tuesday) – Tourney Town at Amalie Arena Plaza and the Silver Lot.  It features family-friendly, fun activities to celebrate women’s basketball.  Hours: 8:30 p.m. – 6 p.m. Saturday; 11:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. Sunday and 4 p.m.-8:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
