Early Voting is underway for the House District 64 Special General Election. Early Voting hours are 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. and ends Saturday, April 18, 2015.
James W. Grant, a Republican, is running unopposed for another 2 year term. Governor Scott called for a Special Election after the Florida House rejected the November 2014 election results which Grant won. There also was a legal dispute over a candidate who did not live in the district which covers the Carrollwood area and northwestern Hillsborough County. For now, State Representative Dana Young is handling matters for constituents.
If you haven’t voted yet, go to the Hillsborough County Center at 601 E. Kennedy Boulevard in downtown Tampa, Robert Gilder Election Service Center at 2514 Faulkenburg Road, the Southeast Regional office at 10439 Gibsonton Dr. in Riverview or the Northwest Regional Office at 4575 Gunn Highway in Tampa (Carrollwood area).
As of this morning, 3,236 ballots by mail have been cast. 67 ballots have been cast during Early Voting, according to the Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections Office.
