Interstate 4 Shooting and School Bus Stop Predators

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that happened on Interstate 4 near US Highway 92 in Seffner.  On April 17, 2015 (today) at around 12:15 a.m., a 911 caller reported a white unknown vehicle pulled up to the side of the caller’s vehicle and shot at it.  The driver, Kareem Spann, 20, of 2018 E. Powhattan Avenue in Tampa and front passenger, Antani Lise, 27, of 1603 26th Avenue E in Tampa were shot. Antonio Diaz, 24, of 3517 26th Street N. in Tampa was in the backseat and was not hurt during the shooting.  Both shooting victims were taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The early morning, overnight shooting happened while other cars and trucks were traveling on I-4.  The suspect and vehicle fled the scene.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office says the motive is still uncertain, however the shooting does not appear to be random at this time.


Detectives with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office also urge the parents and the public to immediately notify law enforcement anytime their children are approached by anyone or people who unlawfully approach, solicit, entice to remove or have unusual contact with their children.

On April 6, 2015 at 6:08 a.m, a suspect approached a child at her bus stop and asked her several times if she wanted to have sex. The suspect continued to get closer to the victim, but backed away as the school bus arrived at the corner of Lakewood Drive and Brandon Trace Avenue in Brandon.  The suspect rode away southbound from the bus stop on an unknown make and color bicycle.
