Strong Storms knock out power to the Cuban Sandwich Shop

Downed Power Line 002

Cuban Sandwich Shop 001Updated July 7, 2015

The Cuban Sandwich Shop, 10434 N. Florida Avenue is open for business today after strong thunderstorms and lightning snapped a power line in the rear parking lot of the restaurant Monday afternoon.  The manager says the weather-related power outage shut down the restaurant the rest of the day. No smoke or fire was seen as a Tampa Fire unit and Tampa Police patrol car arrived in the rain to steer drivers away from the downed power line near W. Senaca and N. Florida.  This photo and video on N. Florida Avenue were shot around 2:20 p.m. on Monday, July 6th.  The family-owned business also is celebrating its 40th year.
