A group of Taiwan’s best chefs will be in Tampa for an evening cooking class at the Art Institute of Tampa this month. The Overseas Community Affairs Commission and Taipei Economic and Cultural Office of Miami invited the group to make a stop in Tampa.
“This is the first time we brought a group of cooking chefs to Tampa. They are famous,” said Robert Chen, Hillsborough County Diversity Advisory Council member. Chen also is President of the Suncoast Association of Chinese Americans and serves on the Youth Advisory Board of Asia Trend Magazine based in Orlando, Florida.
Chen says the Tampa class filled up quickly after word spread about the Taiwan chefs. “We’re not accepting anymore reservations,” Chen said today.
The cost was $40 per person. The Taiwan Chefs’ cooking class is on Friday, July 31, 2015 at 6:30 p.m. The Art Institute of Tampa address is 4401 N. Himes Avenue, #150.
Chen says the chefs from Taiwan also plan to visit the American Culinary Federation convention in Orlando from July 30- August 3, as part of their Florida visit.
