Wet Weekend Ahead

Drivers slowed down on N. Dale Mabry during the Friday evening commute.  3.3 inches of rain fell at one location in the Carrollwood area today. The video of the soccer field and sidewalk  underwater in Carrollwood Village was shot shortly after 7 p.m. Friday. Thunderstorms continue tonight.

The National Weather Service and local meteorologists forecast a rainy weekend in the Tampa Bay area. Rain chances range from 100% to 60% on Saturday and 50%-70% on Sunday with on-off downpours or showers through the weekend. The ground is soaked with rain from today and the past week in several counties.

The NWS has issued a flood advisories through Saturday morning for Pinellas, Pasco and Hillsborough counties.  A NWS flood watch is in effect through Sunday afternoon for Pinellas, Pasco, Hillsborough, Manatee and Sarasota counties.

Clearwater Public Safety also tweeted video of Island Way flooded and cars stalled at Winward Passage and Island Way on Friday.
