Chamberlain High School Student Killed in Pedestrian Accident

This area near Willow and Busch is approximately 2 blocks away from the pedestrian fatal accident on Busch Boulevard. Alexis Miranda was crossing Busch Boulevard  further up toward North Boulevard and on her way to Chamberlain High School early Tuesday when a vehicle hit her this morning.

Tampa Police detectives are investigating a pedestrian accident on Busch Boulevard that killed a Chamberlain High School student this morning. It happened at 7 a.m. on Busch Boulevard approximately 2 blocks west of North Boulevard. Tampa Police identified the pedestrian killed as Alexis Miranda. The 17-year-old student was on her way to Chamberlain High School when she was hit by a vehicle driven by Belovedofgod Chiza Ndgegwa. Ndegegwa was driving west on Busch at the time. Tampa Police report both were in the center double turn lane when the accident happened.  Miranda died at the scene. TPD says Ndgegwa stopped and is cooperating with detectives during their investigation. At this time, the driver has not been charged, but detectives have not ruled out criminal involvement in this case.
