The suspect is a White male, 20-25 years of age, 6’0-6’3, medium build, brown hair on the ear and thick type prescription glasses. Last seen wearing white long sleeve shirt with green sleeves, black/camo baseball style Detroit Red Wings cap, white colored shorts to the knees and black tennis shoes. Carrying an unknown make or model 32 cal semi auto firearm, black in color.
Suspect Vehicle : 2010 or later Hyundai Elantra, 4 door, white in color. The vehicle has light tinted windows.
On November 23, 2015 at approximately 6:45 pm, the unknown suspect approached the victim (sales associate) at Meher Jewelers in Citrus Park Mall in Tampa. He wanted to buy a necklace for his mother. The victim allowed the suspect to try on a necklace valued at several thousand dollars at which time the suspect fled westbound through the mall.
The victim chased the suspect on foot west and then north towards the mall side entrance of Dick’s Sporting Good. At this point, the suspect turned and fired a single round towards the victim. The foot chase continued outside through the parking lot at which time the victim attempted to gain control of the suspect when a second shot was fired. The victim was able to retrieve the stolen necklace and the suspect fled the scene in what a witness described as a white in color, 4 door Hyundai Elantra. There were no reported injuries.
