By Florida standards, temperatures will be colder tonight in the Tampa Bay area and in counties north/northeast of Hillsborough county. Most of the Florida panhandle and areas north of I-4 to Lakeland and just east of Orlando are affected by the freeze warnings.
“Freezing temperatures are expected for several hours later tonight into early Wednesday morning across much of the Nature Coast…or mainly to the north of the I-4 corridor.” – NWS Hazardous Outlook Statement
Most of the affected counties have freeze warnings in effect from 11 p.m. to 9 a.m. Wednesday. NWS advises bringing cold-sensitive plants and pets indoors tonight.
For the Tampa area, the National Weather Service forecasts sunny skies and a high of 57 degrees today then clear skies and patchy frost tonight with a low temperature of 37 degrees. For Wednesday, the NWS forecasts patchy frost then sunny with a high temperature of 64 degrees. Clear skies Wednesday night with a low temperature of 47 degrees.
