According to detectives, their investigation began on January 27, 2016, when one of the victims told her mother that the suspect touched her inappropriately. The mother contacted the Sheriff’s Office.
During their investigation detectives determined that between 2014 and 2015 the suspect touched the two girls, 6 and 7 years old, inappropriately while they were undressed. Kim told the girls not to tell anyone.
Investigators also found that Kim had access to the victims at Oh’s Tae Kwon Do where he was employed as an instructor.
On February 5, 2016, detectives interviewed Kim who admitted to the allegations. Kim was arrested Friday and charged with two counts of Lewd & Lascivious Molestation. Kim was taken to the Pinellas County Jail without incident.
Detectives believe there may be more victims. The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office advises anyone with information regarding this investigation or any other victims to contact Detective M. Kolenda with the Crimes Against Children’s Unit at 727-582-6200.
