Hillsborough County community leader and Tampa Reverend Thomas Scott is seeking a spot on the August 30, 2016 Primary Election ballot. Scott is seeking re-election to the Hillsborough County Commission as a candidate for the District 6 County-wide Commissioner position.
This morning, Scott’s volunteers collected names, birthdates and signatures of registered Florida voters (any political party) at Jimmy Keel Library where Early Voting continues through March 13th for the Florida Presidential Preference Primary. Scott’s volunteers say they must collect 6,000 signatures so that Scott’s name will be on the August ballot. Scott is the Senior Pastor of Thirty Fourth Street Church of God in Tampa. Scott has a long history of public service in Tampa and Hillsborough County where he is a former Hillsborough County Commissioner and former Tampa City Councilman. Scott also has served on numerous boards in the community.
