Tampa Tribune closes after 123 years of publishing. Tampa becomes the latest city to become a one-newspaper town.
Today’s edition of the Tampa Tribune is its last. The Tampa Bay Times announced it bought its rival paper, the Tampa Tribune today. Both Tampa newspapers have been longtime sources of news for generations of readers and Tampa Bay area newsrooms. Starting tomorrow/Wednesday morning, a Tampa Bay Times will be delivered to Tribune subscribers.
Times chairman and CEO Paul Tash put out a video message and column on the Tampa Bay Times website today to answer questions from readers and subscribers of both newspapers.
