Disney World Weather

Photos taken around 3:45 p.m. Eastern Time today. Rain delayed the Main Street Electrical Parade for a short time tonight. The  nostalgic parade ends its long run at the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World on October 9, 2016 and moves to Disneyland Resort for a limited time, WDW officials say. The lighted evening parade runs on certain dates, too.

On the last day of summer, the large crowds sweated through hot and humid weather to enjoy the attractions and see the Magic Kingdom’s most famous couple at Walt Disney World in Lake Buena Vista, Florida this afternoon.  The National Weather Service forecast a high temperature of 90 degrees with a 30 percent rain chance tonight. The first day of Fall is Thursday (tomorrow), but local forecasters say the cooler, drier Fall weather arrives in mid-October in Florida.

There also was a higher security presence at the theme park. Disney theme parks are providing free mosquito spray and lotion to visitors to protect themselves against  Zika virus-carrying mosquitos as the state battles with Zika.

While Disney World is the known as the “happiest place on earth,” it also provided a peaceful break for a Charlotte, North Carolina pastor and his family.  Two days of protests after an officer-involved shooting and gas shortages back home also were on their minds.  They’re hoping and praying peace will return to Charlotte and the gas supplies will improve  soon as they head back to Charlotte.
