Fewer Dining Out

As the holiday shopping season goes into full gear, some Tampa area restaurants are emptier than usual this time of year.  “Usually we’re busier after Thanksgiving through December, but this year there’s been a steep drop in business,” said Peter Chen, the chef-owner of China Yuan restaurant in north Tampa near Carrollwood on Saturday night.   Chen who dined with managers of local chain restaurants recently, said they also have noticed a significant drop in customers in December.

Chen says his regular customers are worried about the higher premiums for Obamacare in 2017 and Obamacare’s future.
