The Gift of a Son

Churches held Christmas Eve services to celebrate the birth of Jesus, God’s Son and a Savior. Here’s Christmas Eve music from Chinese Baptist Church and Houston’s First Baptist Church to remember what Christmas is all about, to thank God for His gift of salvation in the extraordinary birth of the firstborn child to Mary and Joseph on a cold wintry night in a manger in Bethlehem.

“Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.” –Matthew 1:23 NKJV

What a comforting, peaceful, reassuring thought. God is with us.

In Isaiah 9:6-7, this baby would be “wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace.”

During the first Christmas, 3 wise men saw a star in the eastern sky, a star that led them to the child. When they found the baby, the wise men presented gifts. God’s angel and divine messages to Joseph and the wise men warned them of Herod, a ruler who wanted to destroy Jesus and all baby boys born in Bethlehem and nearby. The divine intervention resulted in changing their travel plans for their and the child’s protection, according to Matthew 2.

So  all you have to do is look up.  God is with us every day.

From our home to yours,  we wish you a Merry Christmas!
