Houston Neighborhood Restoration Centers for Harvey Flood Victims

Houston Mayor Sylvester Turned announced 8 more Neighborhood Restoration Centers will open to help Hurricane Harvey flood victims.  Most of the centers will open next week after an experimental grassroots center was successful. Last November, the city of Houston and the Baker-Ripley non-profit group ran an assistance center at the Kashmere Multi-Service Center at 4802 Lockwood Drive in northeast Houston. The city says it served 700 Houston flood victims with disaster case management, temporary housing, legal advice, mental health and wellness, home repair, rebuilding and finding jobs.

“We are taking a neighborhood by neighborhood approach to getting assistance to the many people who need it,” Mayor Turner said in a news release.

The neighborhood restoration centers run by the city, Baker-Ripley and Memorial Assistance Ministries will open next week during the weekdays and with limited hours.
