Houston’s First Chinese Families

Volunteers searched through part of Houston’s Asian Archive, a collection of Rice University’s Chao Center, for a book project. HAA is housed at Rice University’s Fondren Library. The proposed book project is about the first Toison and Cantonese immigrant families who settled in Houston from the mid-1900’s through 1965, the businesses they started and how they became part of Houston life.

If you wish to submit photos and historical information about your submission for the book project, contact Edmond Gor at ejgor @comcast.net or Rogene Gee Calvert at rg-calvert@sbcglobal.net.
