City of Houston Public Works  is warning people to avoid the Doxo.com website to pay their city water bills.  The city says it has not authorized Doxo.com as a third-party site for customers to pay their water bills.  The situation has caused confusion and uneasiness.

“Customers have stated they have made water bill payments through the website Doxo.com and those payments have not been received by the City of Houston. Customers also claim they have not been able to contact anyone from the website.” the Houston Public Works Customer Account Services news release says.

The Better Business Bureau (BBB) is aware of the situation.

If you paid your water bill through Doxo.com, the city says the payment may not post to your City of Houston water account. Deliquent customer accounts also will be charged  fees and could be cancelled.

If you paid or tried to pay a water bill through Doxo.com,  notify Customer Account Services by calling 713-371-1400.

The Houston Public Works department says the only official website for customers to pay their water bills is www.HoustonWater.org.
