Bellaire Car Repair Scam

A Bellaire, Texas woman is warning neighbors to beware of 2 men in a green-brown pickup truck and scamming drivers near Bissonnet and Avenue B. The woman says she was scammed by the pair around 4:30 p.m. last Thursday and has reported the incident to police..

The two men are described with brown hair, brown eyes and Hispanic. The woman says they were following and stopping people in their cars and telling them something was wrong with their cars.

“They tell you there is something wrong with your car, then offer car repair, particularly tire repair and demanding money,” the woman posted on Nextdoor.com. She says the men followed her into the Kolter Elementary School parking lot and stopped her.

The 2 suspects are described as a gray haired middle-aged man and a dark brown haired middle-aged man, both in their late 30’s to early 40’s.

The suspects were wearing a black hoodies and shorts.  One man was 5’10” & the other short man 5’3”.

The men were driving a green-brown small pickup truck that was at least 10 years old.
