Thanksgiving Black Friday

Many may be sleeping in late on Black Friday after filling their shopping carts on Thanksgiving with holiday gifts.  The sales and shopping force were with them at the Target and Best Buy in Meyerland in Houston, Texas on Thanksgiving night.

Hundreds lined up early for both stores to open at 5 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day.  All hoping to buy electronics, games, toys and other items on sale for holiday gifts. On Thanksgiving night, a Meyerland Target customer checked out with a 50-inch Westinghouse television and saved over $100.

Meyerland Plaza security added a Harris County Sheriff’s Constable Deputy on a horse at the Target store today and through the Black Friday shopping weekend.  Houston Police also will be roaming busy shopping areas.

Retailers hope their cash registers will be ringing in business with 50- 70% discounts.   Some 165.3 million people will be shopping from Thanksgiving Day through Cyber Monday this year, according to the National Retail Federation and Prosper Analytics. Some  68.7 million will be clicking online for bargains on Cyber Monday.
